BMC Hill Walking Events

The BMC is a community of outdoor lovers who share a passion for walking and the Great British countryside. Whether you’ve been getting out hiking for years or are looking to get started why not come along to one of our events? The are many events around England and Wales that you can take part in from guided local area walks to lectures to get yourself upskilled in Hill Walking.
  • BMC Social Walks

Often BMC local areas will organise social walks for BMC members. You can check if there are any upcoming walks through our community site page. Link below:

  • Conservation Days

Conservation days are run sporadically throughout the year. Led by volunteers in partnership with organisations including the local Wildlife Trusts, National Trust and Fix the Fells. These events range from sphagnum planting, footpath repair, invasive species clearance and litter picks. Look out for events on the BMC Events calendar, BMC Newsletters and on social media.

  • Mountain Medicine Weekend

The event provides mountain first aid teaching to those who love the outdoors, whether you are a novice or have done first aid courses before, you will learn something.

At the Mountain Medicine Weekend, Doctors, Nurses, Mountain Rescue Volunteers and Paramedics join forces in Hathersage, in the heart of the Peak District, to deliver training and workshops to anyone with an interest in the outdoors, coving topics including mental health first aid, frostbite and hypothermia, injured patient simulations and more. This incredible event will help you gain confidence to take your adventure to the next level safer than before.

  • Local Area Festivals

Celebrate summer at a BMC Festival! A great way to meet people, learn new skills and have some fun. From Pembroke to Duddon Valley there’s something for everyone including our first ever bi-lingual festival in the heart of Snowdonia. Families, beginners, walkers and climbers – all are welcome.
